Governance & Ethics
The International Organization for Identity Documents (IOID) is committed to the highest standards of governance, ethics, and transparency.
Political Neutrality
As an international organization, the IOID maintains strict political neutrality. It does not engage in or support any political activities, nor does it endorse any political parties or candidates. Its mandate is strictly technical and administrative.
Code of Conduct
All staff members, consultants, and representatives of the IOID are bound by a comprehensive Code of Conduct. This code outlines the ethical principles and professional standards expected of all individuals associated with the organization.
Key Principles
- Integrity: Acting honestly, fairly, and transparently.
- Impartiality: Making decisions based on objective criteria, without bias or prejudice.
- Confidentiality: Protecting sensitive information and respecting privacy.
- Accountability: Taking responsibility for actions and decisions.
- Respect: Treating all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
Conflict of Interest
The IOID has strict policies in place to prevent and manage conflicts of interest. All staff members and consultants must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from decisions where a conflict exists.
Whistleblower Protection
The IOID encourages the reporting of any suspected violations of the Code of Conduct or other ethical breaches. A robust whistleblower protection policy is in place to protect individuals who report misconduct from retaliation.
